The repo starts with docs only (AGENTS.md says the stack is not chosen). Nothing can be ranked until the target is pinned down.

To settle, each with its evidence recorded in KNOWLEDGE.md:

Which iTunes build. The last 64-bit Windows installer, the last one before the Microsoft Store split, or an older 32-bit one. Note what each needs from Windows (Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support, .NET, WebView).
Which Wine. Stable, staging or Proton, and how this box gets it: the host has none (HANDOFF.md), and the siblings built theirs as a Docker image.
Which features have to work. Library and playback, the iTunes Store, and device sync over USB (the hard part: Apple Mobile Device Service under Wine).
Prior art. WineHQ AppDB entries and ratings per iTunes version, and known overrides or winetricks verbs.

Done when AGENTS.md's stack section names the target build, the Wine source and the feature set, and each item above that turned into work has its own issue.

Scope settled with the operator 2026-10-28 and recorded in KNOWLEDGE.md (commit 916717f). Required: library and playback, own MP3s, iPhone sync and backup. Out of scope: Store and Apple Music. iTunes runs on the headless box; the phone is on the desktop. The work is filed as #2 to #9. The build and Wine pick waits on the grid in #4, now registered as this issue's blocker.
